Residential Counselor (CASAC) – Astoria, NY
Title: Residential Counselor (CASAC required)
Location: Astoria, NY (Onsite)
Employment Type: Full Time, Onsite
Schedule: Sunday – Thursday, 7:00 am‑3:00 pm or 3:00 pm‑11:00 pm (flexible)
Compensation: $50,000 – $55,000 per year
Summary- The position requires a professional to assist individuals in the Astoria, NY area with substance use and co-occurring disorders.
- The role involves providing counseling services in a full-time capacity, Sunday – Thursday, 7am‑3pm or 3pm‑11pm (flexibility required).
- The ideal candidate will utilize various counseling strategies and technologies to support client growth and development.
- Full CASAC certification
- Organizational and communication skills
- Critical thinking and sound judgment skills
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral or social sciences with one year of experience in drug rehabilitation
- Associate’s degree in behavioral or social sciences with two years of experience in substance abuse treatment
- High School Diploma with three years of paid experience in drug rehabilitation
- Experience in facilitating individual and group sessions
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience in developing and implementing recovery plans
- Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies
- Experience in maintaining electronic medical records
- Ability to use various counseling models and approaches
