The Dietary Aide assembles and delivers patient meals, conducts proper washing and sanitizing of dishes using a dish machine, and collects and delivers nutrition supplies to hospital units. Aides may also work in retail food outlets, preparing and serving food to employees, guests, and visitors; payment processing and cash handling are required in retail locations. All employees may assist with catering functions as needed.

Work collaboratively to provide exceptional food and service to all patients, visitors, guests, and employees while meeting all regulatory requirements set forth by local, state, and federal agencies.

• Assemble patient meals using proper portion control and awareness of allergens.
• Use the dish machine for properly washing and sanitizing dishes and utensils.
• Ensure patient/family satisfaction through excellent customer service and quality meal production.
• Manage nutritional supplies on units.
• Maintain a clean facility throughout service.
• Maintain departmental policies and procedures of clinical care in accordance with regulatory agencies.
• Demonstrate effective communication and team‑based management.
• Be flexible in assuming additional appropriate responsibilities.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED, or appropriate documents for minors.
• Experience:
  
  Not required.
• Licensure:
  Not required.

• 1+ year(s) of experience in food service or a healthcare environment.

• Standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, pushing, pulling, and reaching. May be exposed to areas of extreme heat or cold. Primary work location may include loud noises, wet and slippery conditions, and exposure to sharp objects. A licensed driving ability may be necessary.

• 100% onsite at Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls.

• $16.94 per hour plus benefits.
