Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Ophthalmic Technician (FGP) - Manhattan. In this role, the successful candidate tests and measures eye function to assist an Ophthalmologist in diagnosing and treating eye disorders and disease. The candidate will perform visual acuity testing, visual field testing, slit lamp examinations, corneal measurements, intraocular pressure assessments, axial length measurements, and other diagnostic tests as requested by the physician.
Job Responsibilities- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Manage all patient correspondence including but not limited to: disability forms, patient education materials, and surgical consent forms.
- Conduct slit lamp examinations.
- Complete medical history, lensometry, autorefract testing, PR testing, and glare testing.
- Perform all aspects of visual acuity testing and visual field testing.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Five (5) or more years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician in a retina practice preferred. Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) from a Joint Commission for Allied Health Personnel (JCAHPO)-approved institutional course preferred or working toward obtaining certification.
Preferred QualificationsPreferable 5+ years experience in a Retina Practice. Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Salary Range and TransparencyNYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state law on salary transparency in job advertisements. The salary range for the role is $54,013.05 - $88,396.61 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
