Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – Starting January 26th

Assist Ambulance, a New York City EMS agency, is seeking certified Emergency Medical Technicians certified in New York State to join our Bronx base full‑time or part‑time. Assist Ambulance offers Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) emergency medical and transportation services throughout the five boroughs.

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have an active NY State EMT‑B card. NREMT card alone is not accepted.
• EMTs hired as drivers must be at least 20 years old with one year driving experience in New York City.
• Must have a valid New York State D Class driver’s license with no more than six points or two major moving violations.
• Must be physically fit to lift 125 lbs in accordance with the NYS DOH and pass a lifting assessment.
• Must be able to get 19A physical clearance and negative PPD test (vouchers provided).
• Must be able to pass a 10‑panel drug screening.
• Must commit to at least two 8‑hour shifts per week that are the same days every week (steady shifts).
• Only part‑time or full‑time steady scheduling; per diem is not available at this time.
• Must be good with people and able to act responsibly under extreme duress.
• Applicants’ criminal history will be considered in accordance with the NYC Fair Chance Act.
• Must attend three days of in‑person pre‑hire training to move forward to employment from December 15‑17th from 9 a.m.‑6 p.m., with driving assessments on a separate date.

• Weekly payday with a $0.50 raise after 90 days for drivers, and 5% standard annual raises for all EMTs.

• 40 hours paid vacation after first year of employment – increases at three, six and ten years of employment.

• Up to $4,000 back for paramedic school.

• Potential to transition with One Brooklyn Health at Interfaith Medical Center after ~6 months of employment.
