The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Full-time Administrative Support Assistant III position. The position will serve as an Assistant to the Director of the Psychiatric Institute Residents clinic, an outpatient training clinic for the psychiatry residents at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
Responsibilities- Perform administrative/clerical tasks such as preparing materials for classes, interacting with technology departments, maintaining director’s schedule, and managing a large amount of sensitive clinical information.
- Coordinate and prepare for all new patient evaluations conducted by residents, notify patients of appointment dates and times, and help manage the electronic medical record input for intakes.
- Assist the clinic Director with overseeing the recruitment and screening of patients accepted for treatment in the clinic, and with preparing for and coordinating courses that the Director teaches to residents.
- Assist with ensuring a safe handoff of patients between incoming and outgoing residents each June and assist with orienting a new class of residents to the Clinic each July.
- A bachelor’s degree.
- Administrative skills including at least 1 year of experience typing, using spreadsheets, and managing a calendar.
- At least 1 year of academic or work experience in a mental health field, psychiatry or psychology.
- At least 1 year of experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Minimum 1 year of administrative work experience.
- Minimum 1 year of work experience with interacting with an electronic medical record.
- Minimum 1 year of work experience in health care and/or mental health care setting.
