The Hope Center is actively seeking a Per‑diem Recreation Aide for our Skilled Nursing Facility in Bronx, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience with recreation therapy/activities and true enjoyment of working with the elderly.

• Plan, develop, and lead engaging recreation programs tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and needs.
• Create and maintain monthly activity calendars that reflect variety and innovation.
• Document participation and progress accurately using Sigma Care, Point Click Care , or similar documentation systems.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support resident well‑being and individualized care plans.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards while promoting a positive, inclusive environment.
• Versatile in cooking/baking, singing, dancing, arts & crafts, and technology to provide a wide range of activities.
• Design & implement recreational programs for residents.
• Work directly with residents on units, without direct supervision.
• Organize and obtain supplies and equipment as requested.
• Assist recreation specialists & set up program areas as needed.
• Keep daily attendance and document residents’ participation in activities.
• Assist residents to program location and return residents to appropriate units.
• Communicate related information to other individuals directly involved in resident care.
• Be familiar with established emergency procedures.

• Must be upbeat, energetic, enthusiastic, and have a caring personality.
• Enjoy working with the elderly.
• Experience with recreation therapy/activities a plus.
• High school diploma/equivalent.
• Strong computer skills necessary.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member.
• Ability to multi‑task.
• Experience working with older adults, preferably in a skilled nursing or long‑term care setting.
• Certification in dementia care strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of person‑centered care philosophy.
• Proficiency in electronic medical record systems such as Sigma Care or Point Click Care .
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to create innovative and engaging calendars/programs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
