Residential Aide – Acacia Network

We are seeking Residential Aides for our Transitional Housing Family Shelter in the Bronx. The Residential Aide will be the primary connection between the operations staff and the clients, spending significant time with residents to provide hands‑on assistance and insight into the facility’s atmosphere.

$20.87/hr – $20.87/hr

• Perform daily room and bed inspections.
• Pack up and log items for AWOL residents.
• Escort clients to appointments.
• Assist in monitoring and development of residents’ independent living skills.
• Monitor and track furniture.
• Perform nightly bed counts.
• Fill in for kitchen staff when necessary.
• Cover operations desk when necessary.
• Answer phones when necessary.
• Help maintain the cleanliness of the building.
• Monitor common areas to ensure proper usage.

• High School Diploma or GED required (Associates Degree preferred).
• 2 years of applicable experience in shelter or residential setting.
• Passion for working with individuals and families in transitional housing.
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable working with others.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and submit required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of DHS requirements and protocols.
• Ability to deal with sensitive issues with diplomacy and discretion.
• Must be able to multi‑task with strong organizational skills.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
