Special Education Therapy Assistant Job Description
The Special Education Therapy Assistant has the opportunity to develop skills as they work one-on-one with children with autism ages 2‑3, under the supervision and support of a Special Education Teacher. You will be trained by a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) and learn from clinicians in Speech and Occupational Therapy. The Assistants can grow in Early Childhood, Special Education, ABA, Speech and Occupational Therapy, becoming therapists with support from the McCarton family.
Compensation$16.50 per hour, with opportunity to increase rate up to $20 per hour within the first year.
Requirements- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Ability to work entire shift Monday‑Friday, 7:30am‑4:00pm.
- Able to lift 40 lbs and monitor the safety of a child.
- Able to provide proof of COVID‑19 Vaccination.

The McCarton Foundation is a non‑profit organization on a mission to bring exceptional treatment and services to children with autism and other developmental disabilities. We believe in the ability that exists within every child and that all children deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential. In Fall 2018, the McCarton Foundation opened our Bronx Center – an Early Intervention agency providing center‑based and home‑based services in ABA, Speech, Physical and Occupational Therapies to young children at no cost to families.
