Job Description
EMT Military Fellowship
MUST BE ACTIVE-DUTY MILITARY TO QUALIFY
Global Medical Response (GMR) is proud to be an authorized provider of the DOD Skill Bridge program, offering Service Members the opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience in the medical response industry through training and internships.
Under the Skill Bridge program, GMR hosts active-duty U.S. Military members for skilled employment training during the final six months of their active-duty obligated service. The Skill Bridge Program with GMR will run for 90 days.
We’re hiring Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) for our DOD Skill Bridge Fellowship that will respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for medical assistance and deliver high-quality care, treatment, and customer service to patients.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients, determine necessary care, and deliver emergency services using appropriate medical techniques and equipment.
- Document patient information, condition, and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients.
- Provide care using appropriate EMT skills, including communication, medical equipment, and safety procedures.
- Operate an ambulance in accordance with safety policies and traffic laws.
- Collaborate professionally with health and public safety personnel.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in community programs to enhance AMR's community relations.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Current Active-Duty Service Member
- Meets DoD Skill Bridge Qualifications
- Available for 90 days
- Obtain approval from your unit commander; participation can be terminated if mission requirements change.
- Work remotely within the continental US
- High school diploma or GED
- State EMT License (if applicable)
- State Driver’s License
- BLS, NREMT certification
- Clean driving record
- Pass Physical Agility Test
- Some healthcare experience preferred
