Staff Pharmacist: Per-Diem

Overview

Community Memorial Hospital is hiring a Per-Diem Staff Pharmacist!

Responsibilities and Duties:

• All dispensing functions
• Compounding and preparing ordered pharmaceutical preparations, including irrigation solutions, intravenous additive solutions, and chemotherapy as required using aseptic technique in the appropriate environment.
• Contacting and conferring physicians if there are any questions or irregularities regarding medication orders.
• Maintaining patient profiles.
• Filling and checking medication cassettes.
• Making computer entries as required.
• Supervising inventory levels as required.
• Consulting with physician and nursing staff concerning availability, form, side effects, and incompatibilities of currently available drugs.
• Participation in the pharmacy department’s aminoglycoside pharmacokinetic consult service including ordering of medication and ordering and monitoring of required lab work.
• Maintaining inventory and records of narcotics.
• Organizing daily operational activities. Pharmacy interns and pharmacy assistants are under the supervision of pharmacists.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Degree/ Pharm D in Pharmacy with current New York State registration.
• Residency within maximum distance from hospital in order to be available when “on-call”.
• Previous hospital experience preferred but not required.

Job Type: Per-Diem

Salary: $53.78 – $66.55 per hour

Schedule:

• Holidays
• Weekends as needed.
