UPMC offers a competitive sign-on bonus for eligible candidates:
- Medical Laboratory Technician: $10,000 (2-year commitment)
- Medical Laboratory Scientist: $15,000 (2-year commitment)

Responsibilities- Provide courteous, professional interaction with all laboratory customers and respond promptly to inquiries.
- Follow laboratory and hospital policies, including procedures, quality control/assurance, safety, compliance, and personnel guidelines.
- Collect and process specimens accurately, ensuring sample appropriateness, stability, and integrity.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses with precision, accuracy, and efficiency according to established protocols.
- Identify critical, abnormal, or unacceptable results and take appropriate follow-up actions per protocols.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation, methodology, specimen, supply, or result issues and implement corrective actions.
- Operate, maintain, and perform minor repairs on laboratory equipment; conduct quality control, preventive maintenance, and calibration.
- Maintain knowledge of techniques, instruments, principles, and physiological factors affecting test results.
- Conduct or assist with test development, equipment evaluation, and implementation of new methodologies.
- Provide supervision, train, and orient new employees, students, or residents, and perform high-complexity testing independently.
