Our client is hiring a School Health Aide (Paraprofessional Support) in New York, NY. Available as a full-time or part-time role, this school-based position is ideal for compassionate professionals experienced in supporting students with mobility, personal care, and health needs. You’ll provide daily assistance, collaborate with teachers and nurses, and help maintain a safe, inclusive environment that supports student learning and development.

Responsibilities as the School Health Aide:
  • Mobility & Daily Assistance: Support students with movement, ambulation, and physical tasks throughout the school day.
  • Feeding & Hygiene Care: Assist with meals, toileting, and personal hygiene in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Health Monitoring & Response: Address health-related incidents and emergencies, documenting interventions as needed.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with nurses, teachers, and staff to support student safety and care plans.
  • Transportation & Accessibility: Accompany students during school transport or activities and assist with communication support when required.
Qualifications for the School Health Aide:
  • Education: High school diplomais required.
  • Licensure:Must hold a permanent New York State Education Department license as a Health Aide with current registration.
  • Certification: Completion of a state-approved Health Aide training program may also be accepted.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with children or individuals with special health needs is strongly preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes:Strong communication skills with an empathetic, professional approach and the ability to handle sensitive situations confidentially in a collaborative environment.
