Position Title
Peer Specialist – Ohel Children's Home and Family Services – Borough Park, Brooklyn.
Job SummaryPeer Specialists use their lived experiences to help individuals in psychiatric crises. This role is located in a residential setting in Borough Park, Brooklyn. Peers work with residents to acclimate to the home and develop a transition plan toward the next stage in recovery. Training is provided. Prior peer experience and/or certification is a plus. Part‑time positions are available.
Responsibilities- Use lived experience to support residents in crisis and during transition.
- Facilitate acclimation to the residential environment.
- Collaborate on individualized recovery transition plans.
- Provide peer support and companionship as needed.
- Previous peer experience in a psychiatric or crisis setting (or relevant certification).
- Ability to use lived experience to support others.
- Willingness to work part‑time hours in a residential setting.
