Day Shift - 7.5 Hours (United States of America)
Richmond University Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and motivated
** Youth Peer Advocate (YPA)
** to join our
** OMH Youth ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) program**. The Youth Peer Advocate will use their own lived experience with mental health challenges to provide meaningful support, advocacy, and guidance to youth and families. This role is central to promoting recovery, empowerment, and resiliency.
** Responsibilities:
*** Provide advocacy, support, and education to youth and their families in the Youth ACT program.
* Use personal lived experience to offer peer support and model hope, resilience, and recovery.
* Promote empowerment and self-advocacy among participants.
* Assist with outreach, engagement, and connection to community resources.
* Participate in treatment team meetings, offering peer perspective and collaboration.
* Support program activities, group facilitation, and community engagement initiatives.
* Maintain appropriate documentation in compliance with program and regulatory standards.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

* Qualifications:
**
* ** Youth Peer Advocate (YPA) credential required**.
* High School Diploma or GED required.
* Prior lived experience with mental health recovery required.
* Previous experience working in a service-oriented or support role preferred.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with diverse groups of people.
* Traits including patience, tolerance, maturity, and compassion are essential.
* Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
* Basic computer skills and comfort with group facilitation or community work are a plus.
** Salary: $60,000 - $65,000. Grant Funded Program
