Physician Assistant-Interventional Cardiology (Cardiac Cath Lab)

We have an exciting opportunity to join NYU Langone Health’s Brooklyn Hospital as a Physician Assistant in the Interventional Cardiology (Cardiac Cath Lab).

Position Summary:

As a PA in the Cardiac Cath Lab, you will provide direct patient care, collaborate with physicians and staff, and perform procedures as mandated in your scope of practice.

  • Practices within the scope of delineated privileges.
  • Documentation of all patient encounters including: patient assessment and progress notes, treatment rendered, patient teaching, follow-up, referral.
  • Maintain required unit records, reports, and statistics necessary for administrative purposes and reimbursement, including discharge summaries.
  • Evaluation and management of critical care patients.
  • Perform emergency life‑saving procedures in the absence of a physician.
  • Participates in rounds with attending staff and/or house staff on assigned patients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and families of patients during physical and emotional transitions of admissions, care, and discharge.
  • Provide preventive health services including counseling and teaching in health maintenance and related areas.
  • Participate in activities relating to quality improvement as needed.
  • Participate in committees as appropriate.
  • Attend all scheduled departmental meetings/conferences.
  • Be on call during non‑working hours to assist attendings in urgent or emergent situations or procedures.
  • Direct, instruct, and evaluate activities of PA and medical students as appropriate.
  • Participate in activities fostering professional growth and maintenance of certification.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Licensed as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
  • ACLS credential through the American Heart Association.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Required licenses:
    Physician Assistant Lic‑NYS, National Commission Certified Physician Assistant, Basic Life Support certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) through the American Heart Association or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics.
  • One year of applicable job experience preferred.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of the organization.

Salary Range: $–$203,619 annually. Actual salaries may vary based on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. This range does not include bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other compensation.
