Psychiatric APP Job Posting – Evening Shift
Description:
Upstate Community Medical, PC is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our dedicated inpatient psychiatry team at Upstate Community Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated NP to work in a collaborative academic medical center environment.
This full-time evening shift position (2 PM – 11 PM) is essential in providing comprehensive psychiatric care across multiple settings, including the inpatient psychiatry units and the emergency department.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide inpatient psychiatric floor coverage for patients on the psychiatric service
- Perform admissions to the inpatient psychiatry unit
- Perform consultations for patients in both inpatient medical units and the emergency department
- Collaborate with attending psychiatrists, hospitalists, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Participate in treatment team meetings, develop and implement individualized care plans, and document clinical progress
- Educate and counsel patients and families regarding treatment plans and psychiatric conditions
Minimum Qualifications:
- This full-time position is ideal for a highly motivated psychiatry NP
- PMHNP-BC (Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - Board Certified)
- NYS license
- ACLS & BLS required
- Current CPR
- NCCPA Certification or NP ANCC
- 2 – 3 years of experience in psychiatry preferred.
