• Provide direct clinical services for obstetric and gynecological patients according to the established MH protocols and utilizes evidence based clinical practice standards under the supervision of an appropriately credentialed attending.
• Perform as the Team Member during a Rapid Response, Cardiac Arrest Code, Stroke Code, Pain Rapid Response, Sepsis Rapid Response, in the absence of a physician.
• Provide safe, effective and compassionate patient care and demonstrate responsibility for professional practice through and adherence to MH policies and participation in continuing medical education and perform bedside procedures commiserative with their competence and privileges under the supervision of appropriately credentialed attending.
• Devote attention and resources to provide the best customer service possible and perform as a role model of professionalism through conduct, appearance, communication, mutual respect, leadership, ethical decision making, critical thinking and problem solving skills. Demonstrate an awareness of and respect for the cultural diversity of co‑workers, patients and customers treating all people with fairness and respect.
• Document patient plan of care by appropriate and prompt maintenance of medical records, orders, notes and timely signing of verbal and telephone orders.
• Collaborate with private attending in the completion of medical admissions by participating in medication reconciliation process, examines and identifies signs and symptoms to arrive at a plan of care and documents findings in a thorough progress note.
• Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests.
• Explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of procedures to patients, patient’s family, staff and healthcare students.
• Assess family coping skills and the need for crisis or other interventions.
• Demonstrate ongoing improvement/proficiency in bedside invasive and noninvasive procedures and maintains patient procedure logs.

• Education – B.S. or MPA degree in accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Experience/skills – 2 years’ experience preferred.
• Licensure – Current registration with NY Education Dept. as Physician Assistant.
• NCCPA Certification. ACLS, BLS, Infection Control Certificate.

USD $69.54 – $90.00 /hr.
