We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant to work with the operations team in the Bioreactor Scale‑Up and Development (BS&D) group, which is part of the Product Analytical and Process Development (PAPD) department. The operations team is primarily responsible for supporting routine laboratory tasks that are essential to BS&D core mission. This role will receive general instruction for routine work and will execute assigned tasks individually and in collaboration with others, primarily communicating within the subgroup and with other employees in the department.

The Role Might Look Like
- Supporting lab operations to cultivate mammalian cells producing biologics in bench and pilot‑scale bioreactors, including sterilizing, sanitizing, and operating bioreactors
- Preparing media, buffers and feeds
- Performing preventative maintenance activities and maintaining laboratory equipment
- With guidance, troubleshoot bioreactor and equipment issues
- Be flexible to support critical laboratory operations, including occasional weekend and off‑hours work, to ensure the timely completion of process development studies and project deliverables.
- Ensure that lab, storage, and hallway spaces are clean and organized to maintain safe working environment
- Willingness to learn and adapt new laboratory practices (SOPs, protocols, procedures, etc.) with supervision
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced laboratory environment.
- With guidance, identify key process improvement opportunities and work to implement strategies to increase speed and efficiency
- Be adaptable to learning and supporting additional activities that may arise to continuously support BS&D and PMPD through future growth and expansion
- Possess good organization, communication, and collaboration skills; can work well within a team and individually
- Have a service‑oriented mindset and desire to provide quality customer service
- Has an interest in science and strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new tasks and responsibilities
- Ability to lift and carry laboratory equipment and supplies as needed
High School Diploma and 1‑2 years of experience, or combination of training and experience. A 2‑year college degree may be preferred. Experience in cell culture or media/buffer prep is a plus.
Salary Range (hourly)$26.35 - $41.15
