Unit Support Assistant for the Operating Room
Transport patients to inpatient units, discharge as needed; transfer to other floors if admitted or to the front of the hospital for discharge; transport specimens to Lab and move equipment from unit to unit as needed. Distribute patient meals and nourishments based on current patient care orders. Assist patients in opening containers, condiment packages; remove dietary trays, provide ice/water as directed by the assigned nurse.
Observe unit floors for accidental spillage and attend to spills promptly. Complete repair requests and enter work orders for repairs of broken equipment. Clean medication rooms and utility rooms daily, wipe all counters, surfaces, and equipment. Empty trash and linen hampers, insert new bags.
Typical shifts: 6:30 am–2:30 pm or 8:00 am–4:00 pm.
Pay Range$18.50–$22.50 per hour.
Requirements- High School education, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- No license or certification required.
