Licensed Master Social Worker (NY HELPS)
Join to apply for the Licensed Master Social Worker (NY HELPS) role at New York State Center for Recruitment & Public Service.
Responsibilities- Supervise daily WRTP group activities and IPA-S.
- Provide individual and group therapy as well as case management.
- Assess need and appropriateness of veterans for the VTRP program.
- Connect incarcerated individuals to community providers.
- Increase their knowledge of available services, provide linkages to those services, and develop skills needed to obtain ongoing services once released.
- Facilitate TAMAR groups.
- Part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). (
* Please see below for further information). - Possession of a license and current registration as a Licensed Master Social Worker in New York State or Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York State.
- May be filled via a non-competitive appointment for the duration of the NY HELPS Program, meaning no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications for the title.
- Within one year of permanent appointment, employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non‑competitive employment status converted to competitive status without completing an examination.
- Employees will then receive the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State.
- While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
