Overview
We currently have a per diem Cardiology inpatient position for a Physician Assistant to perform patient care in-patient management, diagnosis, treatment planning and ordering of pertinent test, therapeutics and medication per PA State law and hospital policy. Excellent learning experience and PA friendly service line.
Responsibilities
- Obtain arterial and venous access and/or cannulation of arteries or veins for procedures.
- Assist in right and left heart interventions.
- Assist in intracoronary interventions.
- Assist in intravascular diagnostic and interventional procedures (i.e. renal, peripheral procedures). Document preliminary results of procedures in progress notes as discussed with attending.
- Assist in placement of temporary/permanent pacemakers.
- Care for patient’s pre and post cardiac/vascular procedures, including preadmission testing; document in progress notes as to findings.
- Assists in interrogation of pacemakers, AICD.
- Assists in EP studies, ablations and placement of PPM & AICDs.
- Participates in resuscitation and emergent procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited PA Program; masters preferred.
- Board Certified by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants)
- New Grads are welcome. We have experienced PAs who are ready and willing to train.
- Experience or cardiology rotation would be a plus.
- Licensed by the NY State Department of Education.
- Valid DEA number
- BCLS certification and ACLS certification if departmental requirement.
Pay Range
USD $90.00 - USD $90.00 /Hr.
