Sit Still Kid's Salon is a modern children's salon offering exceptional haircare services in a fun, kid-friendly atmosphere, without being anti-adult. Our goal is to provide a personalized and top-tier experience for each little client while leading the way in the children's hair industry. We offer a full-service salon experience that's both welcoming and sophisticated. We're seeking a talented, creative, and experienced hairstylist to join our elite team.

We are hiring for our locations in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and LIC, Queens.

• Competitive compensation: $17 - 19 (based on experience) per hour
• Product commission of 10% -- and our clients tip great!! (when working the busiest hours, opportunity to make $36 - $55 per hour inclusive of tips & product commission)

• Perform haircuts, color treatments, and styling services for children of various ages.
• Provide personalized consultations to understand client needs and ensure satisfaction.
• Create a positive, friendly, and fun atmosphere for children and parents.
• Stay up-to-date on current beauty trends and new techniques to provide cutting-edge services.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and professional environment.
• Offer product recommendations to clients based on individual needs and hair types.
• Meet product sales goals on a weekly basis (ranging from $250 - 500, based on experience and hours worked).
• Build lasting relationships with clients through excellent customer service and communication.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain the salon’s high standards of service and performance.

• Proven experience as a hairstylist, experience with children a bonus!
• Current state cosmetology license or certification.
• Recent graduates are welcome to apply
• Expertise in cutting, coloring, and styling hair.
• Strong knowledge of beauty trends, haircare products, and tools.
• Excellent communication skills and a talent for building rapport with clients.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for creativity.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Willingness to learn and grow through ongoing training.
• Must have a valid NY cosmetology license

We are looking for Stylists who are available, at a minimum:

• 1 weekend day, 9 am - 5 pm - OR -
• 2 weekend days for shifts from 9 am - 2 pm and 1 pm - 6 pm
• 1 weekday shift, 2:30 - 7:30 pm
• We are looking for a commitment of at least 14 hours per week. We are also open to full-time employment, which is 28 hours per week at our salon (Saturdays & Sundays, 9 am - 5 pm and 3 - 7 pm for 3 weekdays).
