Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY for the position of Executive Director. The Executive Director will oversee day-to-day operations of the Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic & Asian Legislative Caucus, develop and implement strategic initiatives, and provide leadership on legislative and policy matters. The role includes managing staff, coordinating projects, analyzing proposed legislation, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders.

The Executive Director will also represent the Caucus in public forums and collaborate with community organizations and government entities.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Governmental Affairs and Legislative Relations
  • Strong Analytical Skills to assess and evaluate legislation and policy implications
  • Experience in Project Management and the ability to oversee multiple initiatives
  • Demonstrated knowledge of legislation and legislative processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to articulate ideas effectively to diverse audiences
  • Strong leadership and team management experience
  • Commitment to advancing equity and social justice
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Government, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Prior experience in public policy, government, or advocacy roles is highly desirable
