The Team

Customer Success – CDP’s Customer Success function is responsible for the customer experience from onboarding through delivery of a seamless customer journey, ensuring customer delight and retention without over- or under-servicing.

Disclosure – The Disclosure team engages and supports discloser customers, including enhanced disclosure support to Reporter Service members and ASPs.

About this role

The Public Sector Fellow directly engages state and government disclosers on CDP environmental disclosure and related topics. The role focuses on bringing in new disclosers to CDP and supporting the Disclosure team’s goals.

What you will do

Critical Discloser Engagement and Success

  • Proactively engage cities, counties, states, provinces, territories, and public authorities to disclose to CDP and support them through their disclosure via emails and phone calls.
  • Work with multiple systems and tools to maintain and track relationships.

Engagement Support

  • Build upon the case of disclosure for targeted organizations.
  • Conduct research to build upon the case of disclosure for targeted organizations.
  • Co-manage a support inbox to provide key information to new and previously responding organizations, helping to secure participation in CDP programs.
  • Answer inbound queries on the questionnaire and review responses to support optimal data quality, the advancement of climate policy and participant satisfaction.

Knowledge and Expertise

  • Improve existing and develop new engagement content, including presentation slide decks and other resources.
  • Interest in public sector sustainability and climate action—particularly in mitigation and adaptation efforts, and green infrastructure projects; familiarity with the roles that state and local governments play in climate action.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships on behalf of CDP in a customer-facing role.
  • Ability to quickly understand and effectively communicate complex ideas.
  • Perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Detail-oriented and able to learn and navigate software systems and processes for tracking and relationship management.
  • Team player who can take ownership over their own work while collaborating with others.
  • Work experience in local or state government in the US or Canada.
  • Alignment with CDP’s mission and values.
