The Office of Enforcement and Neighborhood Services (OENS) leads the agency’s effort to work closely with other HPD divisions and outside community partners to identify buildings in distress, assess and develop appropriate strategies to address those properties and work closely with responsible owners to develop a plan to improve conditions and return buildings to firm financial footing and physical health. OENS uses enforcement tools within its Division of Code Enforcement, Housing Litigation Division, Emergency Operations and Enhanced Enforcement, and the Division of Neighborhood Preservation to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.
The Office of Enforcement and Neighborhood Services is composed of seven divisions:
Data Management & Technology (DMT), Division of Neighborhood Preservation (DNP), Administration & Internal Compliance (AIC), Housing Litigation Division (HLD), Division of Code Enforcement (DCE), and Emergency Operations and Enhanced Enforcement Division (EOD) and Division of Emergency Housing Services (EHS).
As the Program Compliance Assistant/Community Associate for the Division of Emergency Housing Services, you will be part of the program compliance team which is tasked with monitoring and tracking client compliance, vendor contractual compliance, facility management and EHS staff compliance.
Your RoleThe Program Compliance Assistant will be responsible for supporting the overall compliance of the EHS program by performing administrative tasks, monitoring workflows/processes to ensure adherence to regulations and internal policies with the goal of maintaining the program’s integrity and adherence to the city’s administrative code and regulations.
Your Responsibilities- Monitoring various trackers and databases
- Generating various reports as directed by the Program Director
- Reviewing program activities against established compliance policies and procedures.
- Identifying non-compliant activities to the Program Director.
- Working with staff members to ensure all required documents and records are in compliance with program rules.
- Assisting the Program Compliance team with periodic audits by performing various administrative tasks.
- Reviewing submitted termination files to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Reviewing various reports for deficiencies and reporting those items to the Program Compliance team.
- Assist the Program Compliance team with special projects as assigned by Program Director.
- Respond to inquiries concerning facility and or staff complaints.
- Monitor the EHS-Remote inbox for reasonable accommodation requests and respond accordingly.
- Assist with compliance staff training.
- Proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in compliance, case management or administrative support in a social service setting.
- High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above.
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to the above.
