Position: Park Steward (Seasonal)
Location: New York

Overview

May - November 2025, approximately 27 weeks. Brookfield Renewable is recruiting for seasonal Park Stewards to support Falls View Park on a 6 month contract. The Park Stewards provide a vigilant set of eyes for BRP as to proper use of the park, as well as limited details about the site's history and genesis.

Responsibilities
  • Presents limited and repetitive pre-established talks including introductions to community programs, films, map talks, and static exhibit interpretation.
  • Answers visitor inquiries and provides public information.
  • Show visitors through the building/site, tell the story of events that took place here, and how those events relate to the particular historic situation. Provide information on a variety of subjects and interpret park values for visitors with varying interests and backgrounds. Provide visitors with information on park-related activities, services, and park themes.
  • Facilitates visitor understanding and enjoyment of the park.
  • Facilitates visitor compliance consistent with resource protection efforts.
  • Encourages park visitors to develop a sense of stewardship of park resources.
  • Oversee daily park operations, protect resources and maintain visitor-use areas.
  • Assist with program administration, including record-keeping and correspondence. Work well with members of other divisions and be flexible and able to respond positively to changes in schedules and duties due to emergencies or other contingencies.
  • Assist the public with questions/concerns.
Qualifications
  • Desired candidate must be approachable, friendly, able to deal with the public, and willing to appropriately address any issues that may arise in the confines of the park.
  • Self-starter, enthusiastic, and willing to learn.
  • Strong organizational skills coupled with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Must make safety the highest priority in performing all work activities.
  • Pre-employment drug testing required.
Compensation

Pay: $20.00/hr.
