Financial Manager
Manufacturing business based in Brentwood seeks Financial Controller to oversee all accounting operations.
My client is a long established technology manufacturer with revenues in excess of $200m. The business produces complex electronic components and systems used across a wide range of technical applications. Their operations span multiple specialized facilities and focus on delivering engineered products designed for high reliability and consistent performance. The organization continues to expand its capabilities and product depth through ongoing innovation and strategic growth initiatives.

Financial Controller sought to oversee all accounting operations, fiscal planning, and financial reporting across a multi‑site manufacturing environment. This role leads a team of four and partners closely with senior leadership to drive financial performance, operational visibility, and continuous improvement. Reporting directly into the CEO and the Chief Financial Officer, the main duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Oversee core accounting activity, financial governance, and reporting standards across multiple locations
- Guide and mentor a team of four finance professionals while fostering high performance and development
- Deliver all recurring internal and external reporting requirements with accuracy and timeliness
- Partner closely with senior leaders to strengthen financial insight, operational visibility, and analytical capability
- Direct the annual planning cycle and ongoing forecast updates to support informed decision‑making
- Manage the monthly close process and ensure all results are complete, precise, and delivered on schedule
- Evaluate key cost drivers and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve labor efficiency, purchasing outcomes, and manufacturing performance
- Maintain and refine standard costing models and ensure all product cost builds and yearly cost updates are completed correctly
- Review inventory valuation and reserves and recommend adjustments that reflect accurate financial positions
- Prepare variance analyses and performance reviews that highlight trends, expected results, and actions to enhance financial outcomes

- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong cost accounting experience
- Strong experience in accounting in a manufacturing environment
- Strong management skills, with demonstrated leadership capability
- Base salary of $190,000 to $200,000 (dependent upon experience)
