Location: New York

Carter Pierce is leading an Asset Management team Credit Analyst search for a leading alternative asset manager.

This role will support the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of a diversified portfolio of credit investments, working closely with senior investment professionals to assess credit risk, analyze borrower performance, and contribute to portfolio management decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the performance of existing portfolio companies and assess ongoing credit risk across investments.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis including liquidity assessment, covenant compliance, and borrower performance monitoring.
  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate portfolio performance and downside scenarios.
  • Prepare internal credit memoranda, portfolio updates, and investment committee materials.
  • Identify potential credit issues and assist in developing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Support amendment, refinancing, and restructuring processes where applicable.
  • Coordinate with legal advisors, restructuring consultants, and portfolio company management teams.
  • Assist with portfolio surveillance systems and internal reporting processes.
Target Candidate Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1–4 years of relevant experience in any of the following:
    Leveraged Finance, Credit Risk / Credit Analysis, Portfolio Management, Structured Finance, Private Credit or Direct Lending
  • Strong financial modeling, accounting, and credit analysis capabilities.
  • Familiarity evaluating leveraged capital structures and borrower creditworthiness.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
