Controller – Boutique Hedge Fund

A rapidly growing boutique hedge fund in New York City is seeking a Controller to join its team in a newly created, high-impact role. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with the founder, take ownership of the firm’s finance and accounting oversight, and play a key role in supporting the continued growth of a highly successful investment platform.

• Oversee all accounting and tax for the hedge fund and feeders
• Oversee fund administrator
• Opportunity to support traders and sit on the desk
• P&L oversight, performance analytics, and troubleshoot issues
• Oversee trade breaks
• Oversee cash movement/margin calls
• Management Co and GP Accounting and Tax
• Provide annual budget to partners with intimate understanding of firmwide costs
• Help with technology automation and streamlining

• 6+ years of accounting/finance experience within hedge funds, asset management, or financial services
• Strong understanding of fund accounting, financial reporting, and investment operations
• Experience overseeing or reviewing work performed by third-party fund administrators
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of a newly created, high-impact role
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Comfortable working directly with senior leadership in a small, collaborative team environment
• CPA or advanced accounting credentials strongly preferred
