Pay Rate: $60 – $65 per hour

We are seeking a highly technical Senior Accountant / Financial Analyst to support the Controller during the calendar year-end standalone statutory audit with KPMG. This role requires an independent professional who can prepare complete financial statements with minimal oversight, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP).
This position does not include managerial responsibilities or direct reports.
Key Responsibilities- Income Statement
- Balance Sheet
- Statement of Cash Flows
- Statement of Equity Roll forward
- Prepare detailed footnote disclosures in compliance with US GAAP and SAP
- Support year-end statutory audit process and interact with external auditors (KPMG)
- Prepare account analyses, general ledger reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and journal entries
- Review investment journal entries, amortization schedules, and disclosures
- Assist with claim selection reviews, validating APR-DRG, APG, and fee-schedule-based payments against contractual rates
- Ensure audit documentation is complete and delivered timely
- Support integration of new lines of business impacting the Controller’s area
- Assist with Board of Directors and Finance Committee presentations (strong PowerPoint skills preferred)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (US GAAP and SAP)
- Experience preparing full financial statements independently
- Experience interacting with external auditors
- Healthcare industry experience preferred
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Experience in health insurance, hospitals, or care delivery systems
- Experience in managed care (VBP, utilization review, case management)
- Proficiency in claims analysis
