At most companies, a treasury analyst with two to five years of experience is running the same reconciliations they ran on day one. At this one, you’d be helping build a treasury function from scratch alongside a Treasurer who has done it before and wants to teach you how.
Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of a confidential client: a PE-backed insurance carrier startup in New York City. This is a company backed by a major investment firm and led by a CEO who previously ran a Fortune 500 insurance carrier. They’re building a modern, technology-driven platform from the ground up with a small team of experienced operators who chose startup intensity over corporate comfort.
The office culture is genuinely relaxed. People are collaborative and low-ego. It’s a modern space where the energy runs high but the atmosphere stays calm. You won’t find decades of bureaucracy or rigid hierarchies here. What you will find is a team where everyone knows each other’s name and your contributions are visible from day one.
This is the kind of role that compresses five years of development into two. You’ll work directly under a Treasurer who has built treasury functions at multiple companies and is intentional about developing talent. Because the function is still being constructed, you won’t be slotted into a narrow lane. You’ll get exposure to cash management, liquidity forecasting, risk management, banking relationships, FX, and treasury systems, all within your first year.
At an established carrier, you’d wait years for that breadth.
You will report directly to the Treasurer. No manager between you and the person making treasury decisions. The Treasurer brings decades of experience across insurance, banking, and capital markets and has a track record of developing analysts into senior treasury professionals. The CFO is equally hands‑on and accessible. This is a leadership team that will invest in your growth, not just assign you tasks.
Insurance is being reshaped by private capital and technology, and this company is purpose‑built to capitalize on that shift. With significant PE backing and a CEO who brings Fortune 500 operating experience, they have both the capital and the credibility to scale. For someone early to mid‑career in treasury, this is the rare chance to join a company where the infrastructure is still being designed and you get to be part of designing it.
If you’re a treasury analyst at a mid‑size or large company, you probably handle one piece of a process that ten people touch. Here, you’ll see the full picture. You’ll sit next to the Treasurer, not three levels below. Your cash flow forecasts will go directly to the CFO, not through a chain of reviewers. And when the company grows, you’ll have been the person who helped build the foundation.
That’s a career story that stands out.
You will be a core member of a small treasury team at a company that’s scaling quickly. Your day‑to‑day will span cash positioning, liquidity monitoring, transaction execution, bank account management, and financial reporting. You’ll also support risk management activities including interest rate and FX exposure analysis, and help maintain compliance controls across all treasury functions.
This is a hands‑on role with real breadth. You won’t specialize in one thing. You’ll touch everything.
