Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: New York

Our client’s mission is to build a more efficient healthcare system and the technology that makes it possible. Their goal is to provide an ecosystem of fintech and software solutions (very similar to what Brex, Navan and Ramp do) but for a specific B2B vertical they help the healthcare space better manage their businesses, so they can have time back to focus on what matters to them most.

They offer physicians and medical clinics across the country credit and expense management products they crucially need, AI tools such as patient management, as well as a medical supply marketplace. It is an all-in-one platform powered by machine learning technologies.

Founded by experienced entrepreneurs behind billion-dollar exits and backed by top-tier venture capital firms (including Andreessen Horowitz and NEA), the company has assembled an ambitious and experienced team from leading organizations such as American Express, JPMorgan Chase, Citi, Pay Pal, Capsule, Plaid, Bloomberg, Meta, Facebook, and Mastercard. Their advisory board features co-founders of Square and Xendit, along with senior figures from Intuit, CityMD, and government.

Our client is scaling rapidly and is on a clear trajectory toward becoming a unicorn this year - and beyond. Their growth is not accidental; it’s the result of disciplined execution, relentless focus, and a team that refuses to settle. They are building a category-defining company (10.1x growth in 2025) and are looking for people who want to do the most meaningful work of their careers.

The bar is high because the opportunity is massive - think the success of companies like Ramp, Brex, and Navan.

Our Client Is Looking For:

You will play a critical role in scaling the company’s accounting infrastructure and ensuring financial compliance, reporting, and controls are best-in-class.

They are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented professional who can partner closely with the CFO to bring core accounting functions in-house, prepare for the company’s first audit, and provide timely insights that support strategic decisions.

This is a real opportunity to support a company in a post–Series B growth phase, aiming to IPO in the next 4–5 years.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborating with the CFO, outsourced bookkeeping firm, and senior staff to develop internal control policies and procedures for accounting, cash, and credit management
  • Leading the transition of all bookkeeping and accounting functions from the outsourced partner and building a GAAP-compliant P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
  • Preparing for the company’s first external audit (2025 or 2026) and coordinating the annual audit process
  • Establishing financial controls within the accounting department and leading monthly close activities
  • Supporting monthly and quarterly investor and lender compliance reporting
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual and monthly operating budgets and collaborating with budget owners to improve financial literacy
  • Utilizing and providing feedback on the company’s in-house expense management platform and managing accounting entries in Quick Books
  • Producing financial trend analyses and strategic financial reports for the Board of Directors, Finance and Audit Committee, and senior leadership
  • Monitoring fiscal deadlines and ensuring timely completion of financial reporting requirements
  • Reviewing vendor contracts and providing financial perspective in decision-making
  • Managing payroll and expense reimbursements, both domestic and international
  • Supporting tax reporting and compliance initiatives
  • Taking on additional responsibilities as needed in a fast-paced startup environment
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field (required)
  • CPA certification (required)
  • 4–7 years of progressive experience in public or private accounting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial controls, and reporting standards
  • Experience leading audits and building accounting systems from the ground up
  • Familiarity with Quick Books and financial reporting tools
  • Comfort working in startup environments with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset
  • A commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
What our client offers:
  • Equity - Everyone at the company is an owner. When the company wins, you win.
  • Health Care - Comprehensive health, vision, and dental insurance options.
  • A generous employer 401(k) match to support long-term financial stability.
