Senior Investment Professional – Long​/Short Special Situations & Distressed Credit

A top-tier New York City hedge fund is seeking a highly experienced investment professional to join its team.

The firm focuses on long/short investing, special situations, and opportunistic credit across public and private markets
. Backed by a very large institutional investor, it combines meaningful capital with an entrepreneurial mindset, offering the opportunity to directly influence strategy and PnL.

This role is ideal for professionals who are currently investing but have a strong restructuring background and are motivated by autonomy, responsibility, and the ability to directly drive investment outcomes.

• 8–15+ years of experience in private equity, credit, or investment roles with a focus on restructuring, turnaround, or operationally complex situations
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate and execute complex investments across public and private markets
• Strong analytical skills, including financial modeling, valuation, and scenario analysis
• Experience leading diligence, structuring, and negotiations
• Track record of preparing and presenting investment recommendations to senior leadership or Investment Committees
• Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in shaping the growth and strategic direction of a high-performing platform
• Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship management skills

• Lead evaluation, structuring, and execution of long/short, special situations, and opportunistic credit investments
• Apply restructuring expertise to assess complex investment opportunities across public and private markets
• Build detailed financial models, transaction structures, and performance analyses
• Coordinate comprehensive diligence with internal teams and external advisors
• Prepare investment recommendations for senior leadership and Investment Committees
• Monitor portfolio performance and contribute to strategic initiatives
• Mentor and guide junior professionals within the investment team
