Position: Director – Quantitative Research (Fixed Income) Global Investment Firm | New York Area
Location: New York

We are exclusively partnering with a leading global investment firm who is seeking a Director of Quantitative Research to join its Quantitative Research Team within the Fixed Income division. The group is responsible for developing advanced quantitative models, tools, and strategies that drive portfolio construction, systematic investing, and risk management across global fixed income markets.

This is a senior, hands-on research position at the center of the investment process. The successful candidate will lead the design and enhancement of quantitative frameworks used for portfolio optimization, relative value analysis, and performance attribution, working closely with portfolio managers, traders, and risk specialists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the research and development of quantitative models supporting portfolio construction and risk management.
  • Design and prototype new methods for signal generation, optimization, and market risk analysis.
  • Collaborate with investment teams to integrate quantitative insights into trading and portfolio decisions.
  • Develop scalable, production-ready analytics using Python or similar programming languages.
  • Mentor junior researchers and contribute to the broader advancement of the firm’s quant research capability.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in quantitative research or model development, ideally within fixed income asset management.
  • Strong expertise in portfolio construction, systematic strategy design, and risk modelling.
  • Advanced programming skills in Python; C++ or Java knowledge is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of stochastic modelling, econometrics, and optimization techniques.
  • PhD (preferred) or advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Financial Economics.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas to investment professionals.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience developing yield curve, factor, or relative value models.
  • Familiarity with large datasets, simulation techniques, and scalable infrastructure.
  • Proven record of applying quantitative research to live investment portfolios.
