Beacon Hill Financial is partnering with a non-profit in Manhattan to bring a non-profit Controller to their growing team. This role ensures the integrity of financial information, supports grant and contract management, and partners closely with executive leadership to strengthen financial systems and decision‑making in support of the organization's mission. Key Responsibilities- Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management
- Ensure accurate and timely month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closings
- Maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit best practices
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff; provide training and performance management
- Prepare and review internal financial statements, dashboards, and variance analyses for senior leadership and the Board
- Ensure timely and accurate external financial reporting to funders, regulators, and other stakeholders
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes in collaboration with program and executive teams
- Oversee financial management of grants and contracts, including tracking, reporting, invoicing, and compliance
- Ensure alignment between grant budgets, expenditures, payroll allocations, and financial records
- Maintain documentation and controls to support audits, funder reviews, and regulatory requirements
