  • Participate in client meetings, diligence sessions, and relationship development where appropriate.
Syndications and Investor Engagement
  • Collaborate with the capital markets and syndications team on investor outreach, lender education, and positioning of transactions.
  • Support lender Q&A, credit discussions, management presentation preparation, and follow up communications.
  • Maintain working relationships with private credit funds, direct lenders, insurance companies, BDCs, CLO managers, and other institutional investors.
  • Track investor feedback and market trends to help shape future structures and portfolio strategy.
Structuring, Negotiations, and Execution
  • Negotiate amendments, covenant resets, waivers, collateral packages, intercreditor matters, and other credit documentation changes.
  • Partner with legal, risk, sector coverage, and internal operations teams to ensure seamless and accurate execution.
  • Support structuring efforts for complex or bespoke financing solutions involving unitranche, mezzanine, PIK, preferred equity, or hybrid capital elements.
  • Engage proactively with borrowers on performance, liquidity planning, and operational risk matters.
Market Intelligence and Strategic Contribution
  • Stay current on private credit market dynamics including pricing trends, leverage norms, covenant behavior, and sector specific risks.
  • Provide portfolio level insights to senior leadership to inform capital allocation, risk appetite, and product strategy.
  • Contribute to team development, process improvements, and junior banker mentorship within the portfolio management and credit organization.
Qualifications
  • Eight or more years of experience in private credit, leveraged finance, corporate banking, credit portfolio management, or direct lending within a top tier investment bank or institutional lending platform.
  • Strong understanding of credit underwriting, financial analysis, and loan structuring for middle market and upper middle market borrowers.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of corporate loans or private credit exposures with demonstrated attention to credit quality and risk mitigation.
  • Familiarity with originations processes, syndications, investor engagement, and ongoing credit negotiations.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and client facing skills.
