Overview of the Senior Accountant, Sales & Use Tax & Cash ManagementThe Senior Accountant, Sales & Use Tax & Cash Management will play a key role within the Finance & Accounting team, with primary responsibility for indirect tax compliance and daily cash management activities. This role will also support general accounting operations, monthly close, and coordination with external tax advisors. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on sales and use tax experience, and the ability to operate effectively.
This is a hybrid position based out of either our Brookfield, WI, or NYC, NY office location on a hybrid basis.
- Manage sales and use tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, including data collection, review, and coordination of filings with third‑party tax advisors
- Review sales tax returns, reconcile tax payable accounts, and ensure timely remittance of payments
- Maintain tax calendars, registrations, exemption certificates, and supporting documentation
- Assist with sales and use tax audits, notices, and inquiries from taxing authorities
- Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate tax treatment of transactions and system configurations
- Oversee daily cash positioning, bank activity, and cash forecasting.
- Manage cash applications for high‑volume transactions and ensure accurate posting to the general ledger
- Reconcile bank accounts and investigate reconciling items timely.
- Support treasury‑related activities, including controls over cash disbursements and receipts
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with payroll‑related entries and accruals.
- Support external audits and work closely with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and documentation of accounting procedures.
Experience of the Senior Accountant, Sales & Use Tax & Cash Management
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including demonstrated ownership of sales and use tax and cash management responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
- Solid knowledge of U.S. sales and use tax regulations and multi‑state compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with ERP systems;
Net Suite experience preferred. - Advanced Excel abilities with proven analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- CPA certification or active progress toward CPA is preferred but not required.
- We offer a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience including full benefits offering and PTO. Minimum salary of $75,000 plus bonus opportunities and other incentives.
