Job Description
Our client is a global private investment firm. They seek a temp Corporate Tax Associate to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities- Prepare book-to-tax reconciliations and estimated tax payments for fund and management company entities
- Calculate tax and waterfall allocations for carry purposes and track partnership and partner tax basis
- Coordinate with tax service providers to support the preparation of tax returns and related schedules
- Compile tax data and provide reports and work papers to support U.S. and foreign tax filings
- Review work papers, Schedule K-1s, and tax returns from service providers, including promote allocations, book-to-tax differences, UBTI, FDAP, and ECI
- Perform or review partnership projections and allocations to support estimated tax payments for investors and GP partners
- Collaborate with international teams on reporting for foreign investments and U.S. investments held by non-U.S. partners
- Analyze security and debt investments to determine proper tax treatment and required adjustments
- Support process improvements to ensure timely and complete tax compliance for private equity and real asset business segments
- Prepare income tax provisions for financial statements, calculate quarterly distributions, research complex tax treatments, and assist with tax planning and special projects
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required
- 5+ years of tax accounting experience
- Experience with private equity or real estate funds
- Experience at a Big 4 accounting firm and/or in-house experience with an established fund manager
- Solid technical knowledge of U.S tax rules for private equity and real estate funds taxation reporting
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively analyze, organize, and prioritize workflow
- Microsoft Office required
- CPA preferred
