Staff Accountant
Location:
Dobbs Ferry, NY
Compensation: $60-70k
About the Opportunity:
We're recruiting for a Staff Accountant to join a well-established nonprofit organization that we've successfully partnered with on multiple accounting and finance placements. This role offers the chance to support the finance team during a critical Net Suite implementation while contributing to an organization with a meaningful mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Maintain accurate general ledger entries and perform account reconciliations
- Process journal entries including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis
- Compile supporting schedules for audits and tax filings
- Reconcile bank statements and manage cash reporting
- Support Net Suite implementation and transition activities
- Collaborate with team members and other departments on finance-related matters
- Prepare various financial reports and analyses as needed
What We're Looking For:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2 years of accounting experience, minimum
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational abilities and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
Preferred:
- Net Suite or ERP system experience
- Nonprofit accounting background
- Experience supporting system implementations
