Location: New York

HWThree is partnered with a Corproate Investment Bank, looking to hire a VP of Credit Risk with a strong ability to asses risk across various Financial Institutions (banks, broker dealers, inrurance, etc.).

This is a hybrid role in the New York City area. If you are not able to work on-site at least 2 days per-week, please do not apply.

Role Overview

Successful candidats will had a strong foundation in finance and accounting, along with demonstrated expertise in evaluating credit risk across transactions involving financial institutions in the Americas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze credit risk across transactions with financial institutions, including banks, broker-dealers, insurance companies, registered funds, business development companies, private funds, asset managers, and structured finance vehicles.
  • Evaluate counter party risk, transaction structure, facility terms, profitability, background context, and relationship strategy, and monitor ongoing credit quality.
  • Prepare concise written executive summaries and recommendations based on credit applications.
  • Coordinate the credit approval process by serving as a liaison between business teams and credit leadership.
  • Provide guidance to business teams to ensure credit submissions are thorough, consistent, and compliant with internal standards.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable U.S. regulatory requirements in connection with credit approvals.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in a credit function within financial services, including at least 3–5 years covering financial institutions.
  • Knowledge of financial institutions and related financial products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex credit applications into clear, concise summaries under time constraints.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
