Placement Agent Associates support senior fundraising professionals in raising capital from institutional investors on behalf of alternative asset managers. The role combines financial analysis, marketing material preparation, investor research, due diligence coordination, and client relationship support in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
These professionals work closely with general partners (GPs), limited partners (LPs), institutional investors, and internal capital advisory teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in executing capital raising mandates for private markets funds
Prepare marketing materials including pitch decks, private placement memoranda (PPMs), teasers, and due diligence questionnaires (DDQs)
Conduct investor research and maintain detailed databases of institutional LPs (pensions, endowments, family offices, sovereign wealth funds)
Support financial analysis of fund performance, track records, and portfolio metrics (IRR, TVPI, DPI, MOIC)
Coordinate investor meetings, roadshows, and follow-up communications
Track fundraising pipeline activity and investor engagement status
Assist with responses to LP due diligence requests and data room management
Monitor market trends in fundraising, allocations, and alternative asset flows
Support internal reporting related to capital raising progress and projections
Maintain CRM systems and investor contact records
Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
Strong understanding of private markets fund structures and fundraising processes
Familiarity with performance metrics such as IRR, MOIC, TVPI, and DPI
Experience in investment banking, private equity, investor relations, capital markets, or fundraising support (preferred but not required)
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with CRM tools and investor databases is a plus
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and client relationships simultaneously
Strong interest in private markets, fundraising, and institutional investor relations
