Location: New York
Our client is a leading multi-family office and investment advisory firm providing portfolio construction, manager selection, and investment research across public and private markets for high-net-worth clients. The firm offers a collaborative, research-driven environment and works closely with clients to implement customized investment strategies.
Our client is seeking a Vice President, Investment Research to join their New York office. This individual will play a senior role leading manager due diligence efforts, driving investment discussions, and partnering closely with client advisory teams. The role offers meaningful exposure to investment decision-making, portfolio construction, and client interaction within a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a generalist background in manager research with familiarity or depth in Private Equity.
Responsibilities- Lead qualitative and quantitative due diligence on external investment managers across public and private markets
- Source and evaluate new investment strategies, with particular focus on private markets and private equity
- Serve as internal lead for select strategies and manager relationships
- Oversee ongoing monitoring of managers, including performance, portfolio, and operational reviews
- Prepare and present investment memos and recommendations to internal committees
- Partner with client advisory teams on portfolio construction, positioning, and investment communications
- Participate in client and prospective client meetings as a senior investment representative
- Contribute to firmwide investment views and strategic asset allocation discussions
- Support business development initiatives and represent the firm externally when appropriate
- Mentor and support junior members of the investment research team
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or related field
- 5–10 years of experience in investment research, asset management, OCIO, or multi-family office environments
- Strong background in investment manager due diligence across asset classes
- Familiarity with or specialization in Private Equity preferred
- Deep understanding of asset allocation and portfolio construction
- Ability to independently lead diligence processes and investment recommendations
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel, Bloomberg, and research tools
