Senior Tax Accountant (Individual Tax Returns)

The Senior Tax Accountant will play a critical role in the accurate and timely preparation and review of various tax returns and related tax documentation for Fiduciary Trust International and its clients. This position requires a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.

How You Will Add Value
  • Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and foundations, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.

  • Manage the tax compliance process for a portfolio of high-net-worth clients, including gathering necessary financial information, communicating with clients, and addressing tax-related inquiries.

  • Conduct thorough tax research on complex tax issues and provide recommendations to management and clients.

  • Assist in the preparation of estimated tax payments and extensions.

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as wealth management and operations, to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting.

  • Assist with tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.

  • Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company and its clients.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax preparation.

What Will Help You Be Successful
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Master's degree in Taxation highly preferred

  • Minimum 5-7 years tax experience

  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, with a strong emphasis on individual, partnership, and foundation taxation

  • Proficiency with CCH Axcess tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex tax concepts to both internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
