A large international construction firm is seeking a senior tax director for its staff.
DESCRIPTION
- Responsible for managing the tax department
- Supervise the preparation and examination of Federal, State and Foreign
- Supervise IRS audits, tax sharing calculations, and yearend tax provision.
- Tax research and the preparation and/or review of memos to document conclusions. Reports to the VP of Corporate Tax and Treasury.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive Tax Planning Strategies
- Prepare analysis of planning ideas for senior management highlighting the risk/opportunities.
- Assist Strategic Initiatives on all tax aspects.
- Develop a schedule of transfer pricing studies required to support tax initiatives.
- Supervise, analyze and ensure accurate and timely filing of Federal consolidated return.
- Manage the reporting of International activity into the Federal return
- Review quarterly estimated income tax payment calculations
- Manage ongoing IRS audits, supervise IDR submissions, resolve Federal tax notices
- Manage year end FAS 109.
- Analyze and report annual uncertain tax positions along with FIN 48 documentation.
- Analyze book/tax data for all Corporation entities
- Interpret and apply IRC sections in order to calculate and/or review book/tax differences.
- Analyze US federal income tax issues related to IRS audits of international matters
- Advise business and functional leaders on tax risks /opportunities, both domestic and foreign.
- Manage a staff of (6).
- Heavy International Tax Experience
- 10-12 years experience in corporate tax.
- Construction industry experience is a plus.
- CPA preferred and a Masters of Tax degree a plus.
