The Opportunistic Investments Specialist supports investment teams by analyzing, executing, and monitoring flexible, event-driven investment opportunities across multiple asset classes. The role blends financial analysis, transaction support, and portfolio monitoring to facilitate investments in high-return or special situation scenarios.
This position involves close collaboration with portfolio managers, deal teams, risk management, and operations to ensure efficient execution and robust monitoring of opportunistic investments.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in sourcing, analyzing, and executing opportunistic investment opportunities, including distressed assets, turnaround situations, and event-driven transactions
Conduct detailed financial modeling, scenario analysis, and stress testing to evaluate risk and return potential
Support due diligence processes, including review of financial statements, legal documentation, and operational risks
Monitor portfolio performance, cash flows, and exposure for opportunistic investments
Build and maintain analytical tools, dashboards, and reporting frameworks for tracking investment performance
Research market, sector, and macroeconomic trends that may create opportunistic investment opportunities
Identify inefficiencies or special situations that could generate outsized returns
Prepare daily, weekly, and ad-hoc investment reports for senior management and investment committees
Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
Strong understanding of opportunistic and event-driven investing, distressed markets, and flexible capital structures
Experience or coursework in financial modeling, private equity, distressed debt, or alternative investments (preferred but not required)
Advanced analytical skills with strong attention to detail
Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Python, R, SQL, or VBA is a plus
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, deal-oriented environments
Clear written and verbal communication skills
