About the OpportunityLower middle-market private equity firms within our network may seek analytically strong Capital Analytics Analysts to support capital deployment, portfolio exposure analysis, and fund-level performance tracking.
Individuals in roles like this focus on understanding how capital is allocated across investments, how returns and risk evolve over time, and how portfolio construction decisions impact overall fund outcomes. The role works closely with investment teams, finance, and senior leadership to provide data-driven insights that inform capital allocation and portfolio strategy.

Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesAnalyze capital deployment across portfolio companies, sectors, and vintages
Track invested capital, follow-on investments, and reserve utilization
Monitor portfolio concentration, exposure limits, and diversification metrics
Returns & Performance AnalysisAnalyze deal-level and fund-level returns (IRR, MOIC, DPI, TVPI)
Maintain and update return attribution and performance analytics
Support scenario and sensitivity analyses related to capital allocation decisions
Build and maintain analytical models supporting capital planning and portfolio construction
Update valuation and return assumptions based on actual performance and market data
Support downside, base, and upside case analysis across the portfolio
Investment Committee & Stakeholder SupportPrepare capital analytics, dashboards, and summaries for investment committee meetings
Communicate insights on portfolio performance, risk, and capital efficiency
Support materials for fundraising, LP reporting, and internal reviews
Strategic & Transaction SupportAssist with analysis for new investments, add-ons, and follow-on capital decisions
Support exit timing analysis and capital recycling considerations
Contribute to post-investment reviews and portfolio optimization initiatives

Ideal Candidate ProfileThis profile reflects the competencies commonly sought for capital analytics–focused private equity roles.
Education & Technical SkillsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills; experience with dashboards or data tools is a plus
Strong understanding of valuation, returns analysis, and portfolio metrics
Experience (Formal or Informal)Prior internships or experience in private equity, investment banking, asset management, consulting, or corporate finance is beneficial
Exposure to portfolio analysis, fund reporting, or capital allocation frameworks is a plus
Demonstrated interest in investment analytics and fund performance
Soft Skills & MindsetHighly analytical with strong attention to detail
