Head of Tax

Our client is seeking a leader to join their group Succession & Scalability. Contribute to the firm’s long-term succession planning and scalability. WILL RELOCATE!

Help build the infrastructure, leadership capacity, and operational rigor required to scale the current tax division (currently $6.5M of $15M total firm revenue) to $20M+ within five years.

• Partner with the President and executive leadership to shape long-term vision for the tax function.
• Build strong cross-firm relationships to ensure tax strategy supports broader business objectives.

• Design and implement innovative tax planning initiatives that optimize outcomes for clients and enhance firm performance.
• Provide strategic insights and risk assessments on complex tax matters, with emphasis on entrepreneurial and high-net-worth clients.

• Oversee the preparation, review, and timely filing of all required tax returns and related documentation.
• Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

• 15+ years of progressive tax experience, including leadership roles in professional services or entrepreneurial environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage complex client engagements, and contribute to strategic growth initiatives.
• Strong technical foundation in both business and individual taxation, with a broad and advanced tax accounting skill set.
• Ability to navigate complex planning and compliance issues and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Expertise in state and local tax, deferred compensation, succession planning, and multi-entity structures.
• Proven success managing client relationships across diverse environments, including small businesses, large corporations, and high-net-worth families.
