Senior Fund Accountant

Base compensation range: $110,000 to $140,000

A fast growing asset manager with six billion in assets under management is seeking an Assistant Fund Controller to support the fund finance and operations function. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong fund level experience, a solid understanding of investment products, and exposure to prime brokerage activity. The Assistant Fund Controller will work closely with senior leadership across finance, operations, and investment teams.

• Support the monthly and quarterly close process across multiple funds and managed vehicles
• Review NAV packages, capital account statements, and performance allocations
• Prepare financial statements and investor reporting in accordance with relevant accounting standards
• Coordinate with team on margin, financing terms, cash movements, and trade support items
• Oversee service provider deliverables including fund administrators, audit teams, and tax partners
• Assist with treasury functions including cash forecasting, liquidity monitoring, and expense oversight
• Maintain internal controls, support process improvements, and ensure high quality financial reporting
• Partner with investment and operations teams on new product launches and fund structuring
• Contribute to audit and tax processes, including schedule preparation and review of work papers

• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA preferred
• 1 to 5 years of strong fund accounting experience required, ideally within an asset manager, hedge fund, or private fund
• Exposure to prime brokerage preferred, including understanding of margin, financing, and trade support
• Strong understanding of investment products and fund structures
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with ability to work in a fast paced and growing environment
