VP, Financial Crimes Modelling

A leading international investment bank headquartered in Midtown Manhattan to help them hire a VP, Financial Crime Compliance – Model Optimization & Analytics professional. The team has been expanding rapidly and is focused on AI-based transaction monitoring, model tuning, and analytics across AML and OFAC frameworks, making this a great opportunity to work on high-impact compliance initiatives. The role is hybrid (2–3 days in office) and offers a highly competitive compensation package.

• Design, customize, and implement AI-enabled Transaction Monitoring, transaction screening, and customer screening systems, ensuring alignment with the organization’s risk profile and effective identification of suspicious activity.
• Perform periodic and event-driven tuning and optimization of FCC models using quantitative analysis and ATL/BTL methodologies to set appropriate thresholds and configurations, informed by AML and OFAC risk assessments.
• Lead Transaction Monitoring Risk and Typology Coverage Assessments, maintaining an inventory of regulatory, FATF, and law-enforcement-identified risks and typologies, and mapping them to applicable products and services.
• Conduct Productivity and effectiveness assessments to evaluate the ongoing relevance of detection scenarios, rules, thresholds, parameters, and underlying assumptions.
• Perform annual reviews of customer risk rating models, including inputs and threshold calibration, to ensure continued alignment with regulatory expectations and the institution’s risk profile.
