Wire Transfer Specialist

Role can be based in NYC or Long Island

The Senior Wire Operations Specialist oversees the end-to-end handling of domestic and international wire activity, ensuring accurate and timely execution of both inbound and outbound transfers. The position supports Private Banking, branch teams, and internal partners by resolving complex wire-related inquiries and issues. Success in this role requires independent decision-making, strong judgment, clear communication, and a solid understanding of banking laws and compliance standards.

The work is performed in a high-volume, time-sensitive operations environment.

• Review, authorize, and process wire transfers in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
• Identify unusual activity, compliance concerns, or potential fraud and escalate or resolve issues as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for wire-related questions from Private Banking, branch staff, and internal departments.
• Act as a knowledge resource for wire procedures, documentation, and operational best practices.
• Monitor regulatory changes and industry developments affecting wire processing and incorporate updates into daily operations.
• Update and maintain internal policies, procedures, and workflow documentation related to wire activity.
• Coach and support team members to improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall service quality.
• Analyze wire system functionality to improve processes and resolve operational issues.
• Ensure proper documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting.
• Support additional items processing responsibilities as needed.
